For my final project, initially I was challenged finding a dataset that interested me and had enough data to fulfill the requirements. I stumbled upon the SF Building Permits dataset. This dataset is very robust and gives me the freedom I desired. My goal as I explore the data and create visualizations is to discover trends or anything interesting essentially, as it relates to new housing permits. I want to discover certain hotspots for building and dive deeper into the data and provide further analysis to the user. At this point my idea is to show where the most buildings are going up and to show the trends in new housing permits over all the years of data for each neighborhood in San Francisco. There will also be further neighborhood analysis as it relates to average completion time of constructing new buildings.
