I am visualizing the multidimensional issue of unemployment. What exactly does this mean? Seeing how unemployment rates have changed over time, unemployment trends within the U.S., unemployment rates regarding different races, how unemployment impacts different areas within the U.S., etc. The goal is to show that, although unemployment rates have been improving, unemployment is a complex issue that has hidden prejudices beyond simple occupations. I will analyze the data from the United States Department of Labor, United States Census Bureau, as well as a few outside sources to create my visualizations. Using topological data, state-census data, citizen demographic data, as well as other variations of data to create visualizations and highlight trends within the U.S. To view the visualizations, please navigate to the 'Visualizations' dropdown. There you will find links to my interactive visualizations, as well as my initial prototypes. To get a better understanding of the data wrangling process for each visualization, please checkout my 'Data & Processing Page'.
