I am a Computer Science graduate student from University of San Francisco, expecting to graduate on May 2021. My interests are in various areas of programming especially in web development.
I am always curious to learn about latest trends and news happening in Computer Science.
I am originally from the southern part of India, which is one of the tropical regions, called Kerala. Kerala is said to be 'Gods own country' for its natural beauty. Meanwhile, it has a humid tropical wet climate experienced by most of Earth's rainforests. Kerala-Wiki .My hometown in Kerala is in one of the extreme eastern areas, that experience a drier tropical wet and dry climate. Kerala’s average maximum daily temperature used to be around 98.6 °F; while minimum was 67.64 °F. If the news from Kerala over the past 10 years can be considered, we can see there has been drastic climate changes occurring in Kerala, like extreme floods and extreme hot weather in which many people have lost their lives. Some references can be found here. New Study Examines Kerala Floods' Links to Climate Change Kerala Floods Because Of Climate Change, Top Weather Official Tells NDTV Kerala floods: 324 people dead in 'worst disaster in 100 years' Temperature to rise by 2-4 °C in Kerala Sunstroke deaths reported in Kerala : March-2019
For this project I initially wanted to analyze the climate change in Kerala so that I can collect some evidence to show the link of climate change and current weather conditions in Kerala. But unfortunately, I was not able to find any significant amount of temperature records for Kerala over the past years. My searched ended up in kaggle, with temperature records for the world over a century. I am utilizing this project as a best oppurtunity to analyze the climate change across the world and proving that climate change is a real thing. The conclusions from this project can be useful to make awareness in this world about global warming and importance of protecting our Earth for future.
