About Me (Tracy Cheng)
I'm currently pursuing a CS Masters at the University of San Francisco through their Bridge Program with a expected graduation time of Spring 2021. Previously, I explored the world of biology at the University of Texas at Austin and aspired to be a high-school science teacher. I hope that, with my experiences and the unique point of view that they provide, I can make an impact wherever I dream to go.
I chose to investigate the SF Police dataset because I have always been curious to see how far human prejudice influences systems that we wish to keep just. However, this is a difficult subject as the use of statistics can be used to further oppress those who cannot stand up to oppressive systems on their own. I hope to perhaps reveal some of the human bias of one part of the justice system by studying the published SF Police dataset.
