Darianne Lopez
Hi! I'm Darianne and I'm a senior data science major at the University of San Francisco.
I'm originally from El Paso, Texas but came to SF to get my undergrad.
I really enjoy going to the parks, beaches, and trying out new restaurants whenever I'm not deep in analyzing some data.
I really hope to be a data scientist someday and gain new experiences working in different cities across the country.

Why I chose this dataset:
I've always been really interested in crime shows and movies, in fact I've seen way too many episodes of criminal minds that I am often freaked out when walking on the streets, so I thought this dataset would be interesting to take a look at. Although, the saying 'ignorance is bliss' may relate to a lot of people when it comes to crime, I thought it was about time I check out the stats and know what crime is really going on in the city I'm in. I try to keep up with the news, but often times I'm so caught up with homework, work, and my social life that I tend to be ignorant to what is happening around me. I'm hoping this project inspires me and others to keep up with the news and get out of our individual worlds to focus on more around us.
