As a 13 year old in 8th grade, I helped my family navigate through buying a new home. The whole process was something I became passionate about and enjoyed doing. I remember spending hours running through the numbers to figue out what my parents would be able to afford. I searched the market and found a couple of locations where I felt we might have a shot at buying a home. Once I had an idea of what was out there, I obtained my parents a realtor and we were up and running. As always I was my parents' translator as they knew very little English. I would email the realtor back and forth to schedule viewings. Once we found the perfect home, I was able to help with the paperwork and seal the deal. It was definitely a learning experience for me. Now that I am older, it would be interesting to see if I can find some interesting trends that could have been helpful in our process 8 years ago.
